On Saturday, September 11, 2010, from 11am – 2pm., SET for LIFE will sponsor our 6th Annual Expo 50+ ‘Salute to the Care Givers…It’s a Family Affair.
We will provide low and moderate income families with preventative measures, information and resources on living healthier lives economically. For the past
5 years we have provided information exclusively to seniors and adult children of seniors. Due to the economic down-turn of our nation, the entire fabric of
the family has been affected. Many adult children have had to move home with their parents; many of whom no longer have health insurance or resources
for their family. Our goal this year is not only to provide FREE information and screenings for seniors, but FREE screenings for their grandchildren -
through our many partnerships with local physicians, health care professionals, and organizations.
Through our organization’s work in providing quality services to the community and seniors, our Expo will conduct classes directed to Care Giver, and their
need to stay healthy. Through dedicated hard work of our Volunteer Board and donations from businesses throughout the community we have been able
to provide this day of FREE food, services and education. We are expecting approximately 300-500 seniors and their families from the communities of
Arcadia, Duarte, Monrovia, Pasadena and other San Gabriel Valley communities, along with our elected officials and other community leaders.
To date, some of our major sponsors include Southern California Edison, The Gas Company, Kaiser, The Elizabeth Cancer Detection Center, and Arcadia
Chiropractic Center, just to name a few. I am asking for your support as we continue to meet the need for health education in our community.
